Thormanby Cleanup, Video by Dolf Vermeulen Creative
Two weekends back I spent #EarthDay cleaning up South Thormanby with The Ocean Legacy Foundation. It was a day of highs and lows. We had amazing weather, I got to meet many incredible people, and overall it was a very enjoyable event. On the other hand it was a rude awakening to how bad the plastic, foam, and garbage problem really is, even here in a part of the world that I used to consider pristine… We collected two barge loads of garbage in just 6 hours over a few kilometres of coastline, and unfortunately I’m sure there is still lots left behind. Big ups to the Ocean Legacy Foundation for making this event happen, to C-Tow Marine Assistance and Thormanby Transport for providing the boats, and to all the volunteers that came out! PS: They’re looking for volunteers to help with a clean-up on Savary Island over the long weekend (Sunday, May 20th), make it out if ya can! The Great Savary Island Beach Cleanup 2018
