40,000lbs of Debris Cleaned from Alaskan Shoreline
This expedition was a collaboration between The Clean Oceans Project and the Gulf of Alaska Keepers. Ocean Legacy was there to assist in clean up efforts and capture media sources. This, our first shoreline debris cleaning expedition, was a huge success! In less then 1 week we helped to collect over 40,000 pounds of garbage!!
So many places around the world are polluted with plastic waste and could benefit from plastic to fuel technology….Next stop Hawaii! We will keep you posted!
We were pleased to be working with The Clean Oceans Project and the Gulf of Alaska Keepers to clean and record this huge amount of tsunami debris. Leaving our Ocean Legacy of a clean Alaskan shoreline for future generations to enjoy.
